Investors on Friday demonstrated growing concerns that a rescue of Lehman Brothers would not resolve the problems of the financial sector, sending share prices sharply lower for companies including AIG and Merrill Lynch.
“A resolution of Lehman will produce a temporary period of calm, but we will remain in the eye of the storm and there is more dislocation to come,” said Andrew Lo, professor of finance at MIT.
